独立游戏本来就充满个人特色，而这游戏也太独立了！无论是主题还是形式上，都一直在打破常规，不按常理出牌。例如勇者屠龙故事的全新讲述让人耳目一新。喜欢3D平台跳跃的玩家可以在此尽情享受探索带来的新奇乐趣，因为有非常丰富的可收集元素：dust, card, heart (health patch), metacoin.

游戏脑洞不是一般的大，解谜规则丰富却鼓励突破，如沙漠、水管等场景的穿越。不过，玩家可能被低分辨率和设计上（故意的）误导而卡关，这样不太厚道。 综合来说，除去画面，《镇痛2》质量优秀，是值得反复把玩的小众经典之作。

As the sequel of Anodyne, it's also a metagame, with addtional enhancement system as metaclean. The player spend metacoin collected during game to get bonus such as metazone entrance, item detectors and fast-travel stones.

- Retro Graphic: Low resolution/polygon 3D, text typing without voice acting.
- Use checkpoint to forbid instant save/load.
- The true ending requires true collectable. It means there are two paths to play the game after leaving dustbound village, collect lock instead of card, confront the center to achieve teleporting stones.
